What is the difference between a silicone and a plastic case?

A silicone case is soft and flexible, and it absorbs impact well. It grips in the hand, but it collects dust and yellows over time. A hard plastic (PC) case is thin and easy to keep clean, but it does not give under impact. For most people a TPU or hybrid case is the better compromise — it combines both.

How do I choose the right case?

Choose for the way you actually use the phone: if you drop it often, take a rugged case; if you want to keep the phone slim, TPU or silicone is enough; if you want to carry cards, pick a wallet case. Above all, check that the case is made for your exact phone model.

Does a case protect against drops?

Yes, though how much depends on the type. A thin silicone case keeps scratches away and helps with low falls. Rugged cases such as UAG or Spigen Tough Armor are drop-tested from 2–3 metres and give the most protection.

Why does a clear silicone case turn yellow?

UV light and the natural oils on your skin cause it. It is normal and cannot be prevented entirely. Tip: a darker colour or a clear TPU case yellows far less visibly.

Description

Crong Seal Cover IP68 waterproof case for iPhone 16 Pro

This black full-enclosure case is made specifically for the iPhone 16 Pro. Its multi-layer TPU, PC and PET construction includes reinforced corners, a transparent polycarbonate back, an integrated screen film and a magnetic module for compatible MagSafe chargers and accessories.

The manufacturer states IP68 water resistance at depths of up to 2 metres for up to 30 minutes when the case is correctly closed and all seals are intact. The case is also rated to help protect against drops from heights of up to 2 metres. The Motion Capture camera control uses 15 metal inductive conductors to support presses and swipe gestures.

Before every use, inspect all seals and port covers. Before inserting the phone or submerging the case, perform the paper leak test described in the manual. A successful test reduces risk but is not an absolute guarantee; do not use the case in water if it is damaged, fails the test or shows moisture.
