What is the difference between a silicone and a plastic case?

A silicone case is soft and flexible, and it absorbs impact well. It grips in the hand, but it collects dust and yellows over time. A hard plastic (PC) case is thin and easy to keep clean, but it does not give under impact. For most people a TPU or hybrid case is the better compromise — it combines both.

How do I choose the right case?

Choose for the way you actually use the phone: if you drop it often, take a rugged case; if you want to keep the phone slim, TPU or silicone is enough; if you want to carry cards, pick a wallet case. Above all, check that the case is made for your exact phone model.

Does a case protect against drops?

Why does a clear silicone case turn yellow?

Description

Mercury I-Jelly is a thin, flexible TPU case made specifically for Huawei Mate 8 in black. It covers the rear and sides, helps absorb minor everyday knocks and adds grip without much bulk. A smooth metallic-look finish gives the flexible shell a polished appearance; the case itself is not metal.

Precisely formed openings retain access to the camera, buttons, audio socket and charging connector where present on the phone. The surface coating is intended to reduce sliding on a desk, dust attraction and early discolouration, but wear can still develop.
