What is the difference between a silicone and a plastic case?

A silicone case is soft and flexible, and it absorbs impact well. It grips in the hand, but it collects dust and yellows over time. A hard plastic (PC) case is thin and easy to keep clean, but it does not give under impact. For most people a TPU or hybrid case is the better compromise — it combines both.

How do I choose the right case?

Choose for the way you actually use the phone: if you drop it often, take a rugged case; if you want to keep the phone slim, TPU or silicone is enough; if you want to carry cards, pick a wallet case. Above all, check that the case is made for your exact phone model.

Does a case protect against drops?

Yes, though how much depends on the type. A thin silicone case keeps scratches away and helps with low falls. Rugged cases such as UAG or Spigen Tough Armor are drop-tested from 2–3 metres and give the most protection.

Why does a clear silicone case turn yellow?

UV light and the natural oils on your skin cause it. It is normal and cannot be prevented entirely. Tip: a darker colour or a clear TPU case yellows far less visibly.

Description

Tucano Satin is a black folio case made for iPad 11-inch (2025) and iPad 10.9-inch (2022, 10th generation). The manufacturer's code is IPD1022ST-BK. Its satin-effect front cover protects the display and folds into a practical stand.

The transparent rear shell uses double-injected polycarbonate with a flexible TPU border, helping protect the back and corners while making the iPad easier to insert and remove.
The folding cover provides two support positions for viewing or typing. Stability depends on the surface, fold and angle used.
An internal compartment stores a compatible Apple Pencil, and an outer opening leaves the tablet's magnetic charging side accessible when the particular iPad and Pencil support that feature.
Part of the case is made from recycled plastic. The manufacturer does not state a recycled percentage, so no whole-case recycled-content claim is made.
The manufacturer states that the case passed a military-standard test but supplies no exact standard, height or surface here; protection cannot prevent damage in every fall.
